Damascus Hosts Whitman in Montgomery County Field Hockey Showdown

Two Montgomery County field hockey powers will take the pitch this Friday at Damascus at 6:00. The Swarmin’ Hornets and Coach Hilary Blake are 2-1 and looking to avenge one of their only two losses during last year’s campaign. The Vikings are 1-1 and also had a tremendous 10-2 season in 2025.

Whitman field hockey alum and M.I.T. graduate, head coach Krishna Jaitly, is planning to engineer another outstanding season. She will look no further than to sophomore phenom F Antonia Parrado to lead the charge. Parrado was last year’s MVP as a freshman, was a first-team All-County performer, already has a hat trick this year, and stars on the U16 United States national women’s team. Fellow sophomore and second-team All-County F Kimi Dickerson hopes to provide enough firepower to repeat last year’s success.

The Damascus field hockey squad looks to defend their #3 ranking at home after defeating Whitman 1-0 on the road in last year’s affair.

Leading scorers junior F Nia Marshall and senior F Mary Miller have combined for 7 goals to lead the Damascus offense. The Hornets dominated county play in 2025, outscoring opponents 60-7 in regular-season matches.
